FLIR T460 Thermal Imaging Case Study for Meghnaghat CCGT – For U S Power and Substation Buyers

Client Sector: Combined cycle power station
Location: Meghnaghat, Bangladesh
Year: 2018
Product: FLIR T460 thermal imaging camera package
Procurement Channel: Executed by Impro Solution Bangladesh, now represented under Shafiqul Mowla Consultancy / Impro Solutions USA LLC

Import, LC and compliance handling

The procurement was handled on an LC basis. Impro Solution Bangladesh managed the full commercial and customs path:

  • preparation of pro forma invoice and LC terms
  • HS code selection for thermal imaging instruments
  • checking commercial invoice, packing list and origin statement
  • shipment from Europe and arrival documentation
  • customs clearance and local delivery to the Meghnaghat office

The result for the power plant was simple: a genuine FLIR T460 kit, delivered with a clean paper trail that could stand up to internal or external audit.

The Challenge

A large gas based combined cycle power station at Meghnaghat needed a serious thermal imaging camera for preventive and predictive maintenance.

They wanted one camera that could be trusted for:

  • live inspection of switchgear and bus ducts
  • transformer and bushing temperature checks
  • outdoor substation and cable joint hot spot detection

The plant had already faced problems with earlier vendors: slow response, weak proof of origin, and incomplete documents for internal audit. The client wanted a partner who understood both FLIR equipment and power plant style compliance and paperwork.

Our Approach

The project was handled through Impro Solution Bangladesh, using long term European supply partners. The FLIR T460 model was selected directly against the technical requirement.

Before shipment, the team:

  • confirmed model code, lens, accessories and software
  • checked calibration certificate and serial number details
  • aligned all commercial documents with LC terms
  • prepared HS code and customs description suitable for test and measurement instruments

Everything from RFQ to shipping documents stayed under one responsible control, so the client did not have to coordinate with many middle parties.

The Result

The FLIR T460 package was delivered, installed and accepted by the maintenance and QA/QC teams at Meghnaghat.

On site, the engineers received a practical handover session on real equipment: panels, transformer connections and outdoor assets. They could see clear thermal images, learn basic settings, and start using the camera for daily hot spot checks and long term trending.

The full document set was kept inside the plant’s compliance file as proof of genuine supply and correct import handling. After this project, the client continued to treat this route as a trusted option for technical items.
